SharePoint is most of my working life. I have built and led intranet delivery inside Australian federal government departments, including as Software Development Lead at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and for agencies including the ATO, ACMA, the Fair Work Commission, the Fair Work Ombudsman and DITRDCA.
SPFx, not just configuration
Plenty of people can configure a SharePoint site. Fewer can write a SharePoint Framework web part in TypeScript and React that behaves properly, meets accessibility requirements and survives a tenant update. That is the work I do: custom web parts, extensions, Graph API integration and the glue between SharePoint and the rest of Microsoft 365.
Intranets people actually use
A large intranet fails on findability and governance long before it fails on technology. I design the information architecture, the permissions model and the publishing process alongside the build, so the thing is still usable when it has three years of content in it.
Working inside government
I understand the environment: change control, security classifications, accessibility obligations under WCAG, and the reality of a locked-down tenant where you cannot install whatever you like. I have held the clearance and the process discipline that comes with it.
