Intranet project for a private client
Intranet project for a private client
An intranet for Private client, giving staff one place for news, policies, documents, people and the tools they use every day, with navigation designed around how the organisation actually works. It is looked after on an ongoing basis after launch: platform and plugin updates, security patches, monitoring, backups and content changes. A responsive website for Private client, built mobile-first with semantic markup, accessible navigation and on-page SEO foundations: unique page titles, meta descriptions, structured headings and fast-loading images. A custom application for Private client, built around their own workflow rather than bending an off-the-shelf product to fit, with a user interface designed for the people who use it daily.
The SharePoint Framework (SPFx) is used for custom web parts that extend SharePoint Online beyond its out-of-the-box components. Azure provides the cloud services and APIs behind it. DocuSign handles electronic signatures. Storyblok, a headless CMS, lets editors change content visually while the front end stays a fast, separately deployed application. Next.js provides server rendering and static generation, which keeps pages fast to load and easy for search engines to crawl. React powers the interactive interface, built from reusable components. TypeScript adds type safety across the codebase. It integrates with Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Graph for people, groups and documents. It is deployed on Netlify, with automatic builds from Git and a global CDN.
Technology used: SharePoint Framework, Azure, Docusign, Storyblok, Next.js, React, Typescript, JavaScript, Sass, M365, Netlify. My role on the project was Technical & Development Lead.
